They now have exciting opportunities for Functional Skills Tutors to join them where you will develop and maintain relationships with learners and employers. Carrying out on-site training and assessments together with on-site delivery, these positions will be based across the Hull College sites (including Harrogate and Goole) and also local, regional and national Employers Organisations.

There are 2 full time opportunities and 1 part time role (0.5) available; please state in your personal statement of your application form which role you are interested in.

As a Trainer/Tutor you will co-ordinate the progress of all elements of Functional skills, developing productive and inclusive working relationships with learners. Working with Skills Trainer/Assessors and Lecturers to develop individual plans for supporting functional skills, you will ensure that all learners have a learning plan, assessing them through appropriate assessment methods and within required timescales.

Successful candidates will have GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English coupled with a PGCE/Cert Ed or a willingness to work towards this. With a qualification in Functional Skills you will ideally have previous experience of teaching and working with a wide range of students.

You will need to be innovative in your teaching methods; the position requires flexibility, enthusiasm and most importantly a commitment to the learner journey. Being able to inspire learners is essential as is having the ability to work as part of a well-established team of professionals.
