Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Driver to join our Waste Collection team in Sheffield. Working 45 hrs per week.

Driverkey responsibilities:
  • Drive any vehicle that you have been trained to a competent level to operate.
  • Maintain contact with the operations department to give advanced notice of arrival at collection and delivery points.
  • Use any available method of contact to advise operations department of delays, or potential delays on any given journey.
  • Advise operations department if scheduled workload is likely to be unachievable, and be receptive to changes at short notice.
  • Ensure all routes between facilities are followed accurately. No deviation is permitted without clear, prior agreement.
  • Adhere to vehicle defect policy which extends to reporting of suspected defects (such as soft tyres or worn equipment).
  • Ensure the trailer (or tipper body) is swept out regularly as per Viridor Waste Management Ltd procedure, and each time prior to a different material being carried if practical.
  • At all times carry driving license, Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph cards and present to relevant authorities when requested to do so.

The ideal Driver:
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Hold a LGV CE Driving Licence (Class 1)
  • Previous experience of driving waste collection vehicles
  • Knowledge of Tachograph Operations
  • To hold a Driver CPC qualification
  • Experience in Road Haulage Operations

In return for your hard work as our LGV Fitter, you can expect to receive a salary of Up to £26,000 per annum with a range of benefits
