LOCATION:  Didsbury

JOB TITLE:  Optical Assistant

SALARY & BENEFITS: £15,000 - £25,000 dependant on experience + discounts

WORKING HOURS: Monday – Saturday 9am – 5:30pm (with one day off during the week)

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with one of the most popular and successful independent opticians in Cheshire. They offer high end designer spectacles and sunglasses along with cataract assessments, diabetic screening, glaucoma screening and ocular hypertension referral refinement. 

THE ROLE:  As an Optical Assistant you will offer not only excellent customer service but advise customers of products and upsell where possible. You will be the first port of call for most customers either on the telephone or on entering the store so first impressions will count!

Key Responsibilities of an Optical Assistant to include:-

Helping customers pick the right frames for them
Offer expert product knowledge
Administration and reception duties (answering the phones, NHS forms etc)
Check previous spectacles before appointments with opticians
Help with repairs, taking measurements etc

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will need to be a friendly, approachable individual who offers A* customer service to every customer. Having previous optical retail experience is highly desirable however full training will be given to the right individual. Having knowledge on current fashion, brands and trends is equally as advantageous. 

Key experience essential for the Optical Assistant role:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within in retail
Excellent customer service skills
Keen interest in fashion
Lives within a commutable distance to Didsbury
