About us

Local:

At Bath Spa University we work with one clear vision: to be a leading university in creativity, culture and enterprise. And as the fifth largest employer in Bath and North East Somerset, we're really bringing our local talent out on a global scale. And with ever growing student numbers, it's important for an expansion in our infrastructure and cherished buildings and landscapes. Transforming the lives of our socially engaged global students starts with making sure that our people, people like you, are engaged, empowered and feel valued for the hard work they do. And that's where you come in.

The Department of IT Services has recently restructured its operation and has embarked on an ambitious and exciting portfolio of technology-enabled projects to support the University's 2020 Strategy.

About the role

Reporting to the Director of IT Services, this role will provide professional support to the Director including diary management and the arrangement of meetings, travel and accommodation. You may also be required to provide occasional calendar support for the Director's immediate team of three.

As well as this, the role will undertake a number of other administrative duties such as receiving and tracking incoming Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. There will also be the opportunity to be involved in small projects to increase the overall administrative efficiency of the department.

About you (requirements)

You will be an effective and experienced administrator. You'll also need an eye for detail, an organised approach and the ability to communicate with everyone including senior managers and University suppliers. You will act with tact and discretion and be comfortable dealing with confidential and sensitive information.

You will be a skilled user of office applications such as Microsoft Office or Google Apps and will be able to learn and use new IT systems related to the administration of the department.
