The BEST3 trial will be comparing the Cytosponge-TFF3 test with usual care to facilitate the diagnosis of oesophageal pre-cancer in primary care.

This multicentre trial is designed to assess whether systematic, non-endoscopic investigation of patients presenting to their General Practitioner with reflux predominant symptoms is an effective triage test to increase the diagnosis of Barrett's oEsophagus (BE) without unduly burdening the clinical service.

The role is an active nursing role with direct patient contact with particular emphasis on recruitment, sample collection, data entry and study co-ordination.

The post holder will work within an established team of clinicians, researchers, research nurses and administrators and will involve some UK travel for which expenses will be reimbursed.

The post holder should demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to help
meet the objectives of the study.

The successful candidate must have significant post-registration clinical experience and previous research experience in commercial and/or non-commercial clinical trials.

Previous primary care experience is desirable.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 April 2019 in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with adults' barred list), a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment and a security check.

This appointment also requires NMC Registration and a Research Passport application.
