Grow 4 Good South West Ltd - Project Co-ordinator

Salary: £16,000 - £20,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience

Tenure: This is a permanent position

Location: Based at our community gardening project in the grounds of Dartmoor Zoo, Sparkwell, PL7 5DG

Contract: 4 days per week (32 hours)

Following the retirement of our current post-holder, Grow 4 Good SW has a rare opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join its small and dynamic  team.

Grow 4 Good SW is tucked away in the beautiful South Hams countryside within the grounds of Dartmoor Zoo.  The project uses growing to enhance the life chances and skills of marginalised people, and is looking for a highly motivated, experienced organic horticulturalist who is both an excellent communicator and team player as well as having exceptional administrative management skills.

Supporting G4GSW's Project Manager and deputising in their absence, you will have proven experience of managing volunteers and small teams of vulnerable people with a high level of sensitivity to their needs. Through delivery of training, guidance and support you will inspire and enable them, using gardening to help them grow in confidence and skills and meet new people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of volunteers and referred participants involved in the project, and maintain the ongoing ethos with partner organisations.   The Project Co-ordinator will ensure that sound administrative procedures are in place for G4GSW  to fulfil its legal responsibilities and to promote its future development.

This role is 50% horticultural and 50% administrative, so it is essential that you have proven previous experience of both, with IT skills and strong ability to pay attention to detail.  You must be able to relate well to people from a range of different groups as this is paramount to the ethos of the project.  You must also be friendly and positive and have a passion for organic  horticulture.

Closing date for applications:  5pm Monday 31st October

Interviews to be held at Grow 4 Good SW, Sparkwell on Wednesday 16th November
