CS0724 - Senior Worker
Falkirk council delivers statutory services to the national young offender institution population and circa 100 women currently located at Polmont under a contract with the Scottish prison service.
The social work team is very experienced and committed to social work service delivery to some of the most challenging and vulnerable people in custody. It is also responsible for working in partnership not only within Polmont itself, but throughout Scotland with all external agencies and sometimes the UK.
This post is an ideal opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and expertise with the support of an experienced Falkirk criminal justice management group.
The post holder will initially be supervised by the service manager for Falkirk criminal justice. The post holder will assist the Service, manage a small complex workload and undertake the provision of supervision/ advice to team members and other agencies. In addition the Senior Worker will be responsible for designated discreet areas of work Polmont Social Work Unit.
You will require post-qualifying experience in Criminal Justice Services. It is essential that the successful candidate is registered with SSSC and holds a relevant professional Social Work qualification.
You must have the ability to be mobile across the Council area.
The post is initially for 12 months pending review of contract and community justice redesign.
The post will also require to undertake some evening work within the contracted hours.
