Job Description:

The purpose of the role is to work as part of the Credit Control Team to ensure that: ?? risks associated with the issuance of facility documentation, sign-off of pre-completion due diligence, processing of build payments, and release of security are properly monitored and mitigated; ?? Credit Control business is processed in an efficient and timely manner; ?? excesses are properly monitored and reported; ?? a high quality service is provided at all times to the Front Office lending teams Key Responsibilities Management Support ?? Assist the Senior Manager - Credit with the day to day management of Credit Control workflow and sign off of regular Credit Control reports. Credit Control ?? Verify that, save for CDD/AML procedures, satisfactory pre-completion due diligence has been completed by the Lending Teams, including checking and verification of the Bank's professional's reports, and all critical post completion matters outstanding have been noted for carrying forward. ?? Check loan completion and build payment drawdown requests are in accordance with approved procedures and strictly in accordance with sanction terms, credit governance requirements and internal regulations. ?? Check that facility letters have been drafted in accordance with relevant approvals and terms. ?? Mitigate the risk of breaches of lending parameters, approved facility limits and credit and due diligence procedures by way of thorough checking and monitoring. Credit Committee, Sanctioning and other Authorities ?? Approve advance payments relating to development facilities, in accordance with current delegated authorities. ?? Act as co-signatory on documents to be signed on behalf of the Bank in accordance with the division's Power of Attorney. ?? Act as an authorised signatory for facility letters and ensure that signatures are in accordance with current mandates ?? Authorise loan completion and build payment drawdown requests. ?? Act as an authorised signatory on CHAPS and other payments. Credit Policy, Procedures, Monitoring and Compliance ?? Contribute to the Team's objective of leading in the engagement of credit governance and policy, and to actively engage in the Credit Risk process. ?? Assist with the evaluation of credit proposals submitted for Credit Committee BDCC approval, and to attend, and contribute to the discussions at Credit Committee ?? Assist the Assistant Director, Credit Risk with the identification of credit issues within the credit process and with their resolution. ?? Update the Credit Procedures Manual with authorised changes and recommend amendments where necessary in order that the Manual reflects current policy and procedures. ?? Assist with the compilation and checking of regular Credit Reports for management use. Ad Hoc and General ?? Undertake ad hoc projects assigned by Management. ?? Provide guidance and training on Credit Control issues to the Senior Assistant Manager Credit, Assistant Manager Credit, and new members of the Lending Teams, as directed by the Senior Manager Credit. ?? Manage the submission of regular Credit & Risk Reports for management use, including the Events of Default schedule, Excess, ACC, and IL reports. ?? Manage the preparation of the VAT BDR Schedule and its submission to Finance. Skills & Experience Essential ?? Minimum ten years' property lending experience, including very good working knowledge of professional's reports (Valuation, Legal and Project Monitoring Surveyor), documentation and security ?? Loans administration and credit risk experience at supervisory or junior management level, including CDD and AML procedures. ?? Familiar with achieving pre-determined targets as part of job performance. ?? Lending risk management through sound credit analysis ?? Customer service and communication skills ?? Numerical accuracy, with evaluation and analysis skills ?? The ability to identify and deal with problems / issues arising from due diligence. ?? Prioritisation skills Desirable ?? Intermediate IT skills (Word and Excel) Education & Qualifications Essential ?? Educated to A level standard (or equivalent) Desirable ?? CIB (or equivalent) qualified
