DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS LINE OR DEPARTMENT

The Communication department of Societe Generale UK is ensuring:
The definition of the Communication strategy in the UK, in line with Societe Generale group Communication;
The promotion of Societe Generale's brand, culture, values, and business expertise on the UK territory;
The support of its business activities, principally in Financing & Advisory, Global Market and Investment Services, Wealth and Asset Management.

The Communication team is organised around 3 pillars:
Media Relations;
Corporate Communications;
Events.

SUMMARY

The internship offered in the Societe Generale UK communications team allows a 11 months (possibility to extend for an additional 11 months) experience dedicated to contributing to the promotion of Societe Generale to its stakeholders, both internal and external with a specific mission in the Events pillar.

Based in London, the role covers a large range of events dedicated to Internal and External audiences across the UK, Scandinavia and Central Europe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of the Events Team, in line with the UK Events Strategy, the main responsibilities are to:
Support and work alongside a team of 3 Events Managers in the delivery of their events (to include event planning, budget setting, liaison with suppliers and internal/external stakeholders, on-site management, post-event feedback and budgetary reconciliation)
Manage the day-to-day delivering of our corporate and third party event offering
Occasionally deliver Events on a solo basis as and when required,
Develop key relationships both internally (business and corporate functions) and external (venues, suppliers, etc)
General administration such as updating the CRM for events and prepare the quarterly reporting of the events

COMPETENCIES AND WORK EXPERIENCE

With a strong interest in communications strategies, and in particular, events, you want to develop your experience by joining a team responsible for promoting a company in the financial services sector with a solid European brand.

Technical Skills
Events management experience is an advantage
Able to manage and follow budgets
Good negotiator and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Detail-oriented and thrive under pressure
Ability to work on several projects at one time and being able to prioritise workload
Knowledge of global communication strategies and integration of Events within
Knowledge of London venues is an advantage
Interest in Banking and Financial Services

Note: The position requires flexibility in terms of working out of normal office hours and potential to travel within the UK and abroad.

Education:
- University Degree in Marketing and/or Communication, Literature, Modern Languages or Arts
- Graduate leaver or someone with 6 to 12 months relevant experience who would like exposure to events and corporate communications

Languages:
- Fluency in English both written and spoken
- Foreign languages, especially French, is an added value
