Company Description:

We are looking to recruit an experienced warehouse operative.

We specialise in the sale of sports equipment to schools, leisure centres, clubs and other government organisations throughout the UK. We also have several internet sales channels. Established in 1995 we have offices, a showroom and warehouse in West Molesey (KT8 2QH).

The Warehouse Operative Role:

  • Assisting with all warehouse activities under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager. This will include accurate picking and packing of customer orders, raising the requisite paperwork using our computerised dispatch system, assisting with checking and storing of goods inwards.
  • Complying with company policies and procedures as laid down in our Company Manual
  • Maintain a clean, well-organised and safe working environment


  • You will need to have a good standard of education, and have good written and spoken English.
  • Be physically fit and understand manual handling techniques.
  • Be reliable with a can do attitude and be flexible and able to work as part of a team.
  • You will have adequate computer skills. Safari Sports uses a computerised stock control and dispatch system.
  • Driving licence or fork lift operator’s licence not required.

Basic Terms & Conditions:

  • Salary will be £17,000 to £19,000 p.a. (£8.70 to £9.75 per hour) depending on experience.
  • The contract is for a permanent full time position following a one week trial and six month probationary period.
  • Paid working hours are 37.5 hours per week (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, including a half hour unpaid lunch break). Although the business is closed at weekends at present there may be the requirement to work some Saturdays in the future.
  • Leave entitlement is 20 working days per annum plus all UK Bank Holidays.
  • During periods of sickness there is an entitlement to Statutory Sick Pay however Safari Sports Limited does not pay normal salary during sickness.
  • No contracting out certificate under the Pensions Act 1993 is in force however the company will make available the ability to pay, by deduction from salary, into a Stakeholder Pension if required.
  • Safari Sports Limited operates a strict non-smoking policy and smoking on our premises is not permitted.
  • To comply with other employment terms as detailed in our Company Manual.
