Temporary Mobile Responder East Lancs Days

If you have a caring nature and genuine empathy for the welfare of vulnerable adults and the elderly then we would like to hear from you.              

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Lifeline Support Team providing anew service in the East Lancs area covering Burnley, Padiham, Colne, Accrington, Nelson, Rawtenstall etc. and we are currently recruiting for 2 Mobile Responders to provide support 24 hours a day to Lifeline customers.

Lifeline is a 24-hour response service enabling elderly, disabled and vulnerable people to live independently within the community. As a Mobile Responder, you will provide round the clock support and assistance to Lifeline customers within their own homes. 

Duties will include;

 

  • Visiting vulnerable and elderly people
  • Responding to alarm activations/emergency calls
  • Providing immediate support to customers following an activation of the Lifeline alarm
  • Evaluating and assessing situations and contacting emergency services as required
  • Providing a lifting service to customers who have fallen and have been assessed as uninjured.
  • Maintaining people's dignity in emergency situations

 

You will be based at home but on receipt of a call you would proceed to the relevant address. Due to timed attendance targets applicants must reside in the geographical area of East Lancs area covering Burnley, Padiham, Colne, Accrington, Nelson, Rawtenstall etc.

You will be required to work 1 week in every 4 week period and be available on call between the hours of 6.00am - 6.00pm (12 hours).  You will be paid 20.30 per standby shift and 12.62 per call out.  

Access to a car is essential for work purposes throughout your shift for which a mileage allowance of 45p per mile is payable.

All required training will be given prior to shifts commencing. This position is not expected to act in place of medical or emergency services.  Training rate will be 9.26 per hour during the training period.

Please note this post is a temporary fixed term contract for 6 months with a possibility of permanence.
