Machine Setter

This specialist contract packing company based near Ipswich is looking for a Machine Setter to join their busy and expanding production team.

This excellent opportunity requires a practical and organised person, who is able to prioritise a busy workload that includes continuous demands to achieve efficient machine output in an ever changing manufacturing environment.

Job Description
To be responsible for setting and maintaining packing machines/lines for specific tasks and maximum efficiency against stated target output.

Principal Activities:
- To perform machine set ups/changeovers and full packing line set up to produce quality products in a timely manner.
- To perform regular plant & machine maintenance including cleaning and keeping a maintenance schedule.
- To keep a record of all spare parts and ensuring they are kept stocked up.
- Responsible for the Tool Room ensuring it is both clean and hazard free.
- Responsible for Compressor Start up and maintenance and general start ups.
- Responsible for returning all surplus machinery and parts to warehouse.
- Responsible for making packaging samples for sales enquiries/quotations.
- Responsible for quality control with regard to sorting quality issues with Production Supervisor and Quality Co-ordinator as and when they arise
- Ensuring that machines are running at maximum efficiency against stated target outputs.
- Liaising with rest of the production team and attending production meetings when necessary.

Job is based in Needham Market, just west of Ipswich.

Job hours are Monday to Friday, 8.15am - 5pm (with 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
