This established international manufacturing group designs and manufactures high technology products for laser systems used for applications in aerospace & defense, life and health sciences, materials processing, oil & gas drilling and pipeline security, space, undersea and avionic communications and scientific research, where reliability and product quality are of paramount importance.

These two key senior management Quality Manager positions arise from the need to expand the Quality function at two separate operating sites in the South West. The Devon site operate to ISO9001 and is moving towards AS9100 registration, whilst the Somerset site operate under an existing AS9100 accreditation together with adherence to selected customer/sector specific criteria for some products.

Responsibilities of the Quality Managers are for the overall leadership of the quality function on site ensuring that quality practices are maintained and fully embedded within the operating culture. The introduction of new quality registrations and underpinning of existing is providing additional challenge as well as the continuous application of Quality principles within a growing Lean manufacturing environment. Reporting is through a matrix structure to the senior VP Global Quality Assurance and also the on-site General Manager.

Both Quality Manager roles call for an experienced and proven manufacturing quality professional with an established track record in one or more of the market sectors they supply. As a Quality Manager you will be degree or equivalent qualified with experience of introducing and maintaining the AS9100 or ISO13485 accreditations. You will already be operating at or near head of function level in a recognised high quality, Lean manufacturing company and should be able to demonstrate leadership skills in an environment of continuous improvement.

The Quality Managers will need to have excellent communications and motivational skills as a key focus is to champion a total quality culture which involves and includes all employees. These are superb long term career opportunities offering real scope to impact upon the business as success in the role will bring major benefits to the Group with access to wider markets and new programmes that will stimulate longer term growth. The company is committed to employee fulfilment and engagement and is operating from two key sites which are in very attractive lifestyle areas, one in coastal Devon and one in Somerset.

The benefits package for each is broad ranging, comprehensive and as expected of a leading employer.
