Sales Person

F G Adamson & Son is a major supplier of garden machinery / groundscare equipment in Yorkshire & Lincolnshire, supplying equipment & supporting maintenance & repair services to golf courses, local authorities, caravan parks, contractors, private estates & homeowners.  Across our sites at Swanland, East Yorkshire and Langworth, Lincolnshire we currently employ approximately forty members of staff, but due to continued expansion we require to recruit a Sales Person to sell new and used horticultural equipment from our showroom at Swanland.

Job Description: we require someone to participate in all aspects of selling of homeowner & commercial products, both new & used, primarily to customers who visit the dealership. This will include maintaining the wholegoods inventory and also the promotion of products and services to attract a wide customer base. A high level of customer satisfaction must be maintained at all times.

Essential Duties:

  • Sell machinery to customers on behalf of the dealership
  • Execute all sales process steps to achieve high sales performance
  • Monitor / maintain wholegoods inventory appropriate to customer base
  • Maintain a clean, tidy & well stocked showroom
  • Maintain current product knowledge on features & benefits of all equipment & services potentially saleable by the dealership
  • Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers in the purchase of new and used goods
  • Conduct new / used machinery demonstrations both on site & off site
  • Execute goods delivery & follow up
  • Execute all elements of the Customer Satisfaction Process in order to build strong & loyal customer relations
  • Actively participate in the development / implementation of the marketing strategy to sell the goods / services of the dealership

Skills & Qualifications

  • Sales experience
  • Good knowledge of turf / homeowner equipment
  • Ability to use standard computer applications, internet functions & sales tools
  • Ability to analyse, monitor / maintain processes
  • Ability to analyse & interpret internal reports
  • Excellent customer care / relationship skills, with focus on customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work extended / flexible hours
  • Full driving licence
  • Excellent attitude, honesty, integrity & professionalism
