Five star hotel in London are looking to recruit a Sous Chef Banqueting to take responsibility under the general guidance of the Head Chef for production of the highest possible food quality in the banqueting section at all times, and to co-ordinate and be responsible for staff in the delegated section ensuring the consistency in the service. All production is carried out in line with appropriate food control, Food Safety & Hygiene requirements, and the departmental business plan and hotel standards.Key tasks & responsibilities * Control preparation and presentation of food products to ensure quality at all times and ensuring that they are purchased in a timely manner and within the group purchasing procedures with suppliers. * Maintain a strict hygiene controls are kept in all kitchen areas under her/his supervision * Manage expenses of the department within budget and to reduce/increase on the business needs or when requested. * Prepares and properly garnishes all food orders as they are received in accordance with menu specifications, insuring proper plate presentation * Ensure service is smooth, briefings are undertaken and that there is a good rapport with the Banqueting manager * Adheres to Hotel standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation. * Orders adequate supplies for own section. * Passionate about food and keen to contribute ideas.We are looking forWith at least 2/3 years of experience in a five star hotel working in a similar role, you must demonstrate effective organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.Experience of numbers 1'500 plusAs Sous Chef it is essential you can demonstrate the following skills and competencies; * Able to deal with changing priorities and work demands * Attention to detail * Ability to build working relationships with people from different backgrounds * Experience in working and managing a team What you can expect from us: * Competitive salary * Discounts on worldwide Hotels and F&B discount * Benefits online discounts with leading brands such as Sainsbury's, Costa, Pizza Hut, Argos * Training, career development and succession planning * Pension after (3 months) * Critical illness (after 1 year) * Meals on duty If you would like to know more about this role please send your CV in a word document today.
