Dedicated and enthusiastic chef required

The Olde Whyte Lyon is a traditional pub and restaurant located in Orpington, we take great pride in producing a good quality pub menu together with providing a first class level of service.

In line with our new Head Chef and exciting menu expansion we are looking for a Kitchen Assistant that with our training and support can carve out their career with us as a chef in the longer term.

This permanent role will see you working approximately 30 hours per week to include some evenings and weekends, so you must be flexible in terms of the working hours required of you.

Role and Responsibilities:


Assisting the chefs with basic food preparation across our complete pub menu and ensuring that our customers are served quickly and efficiently.
You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and tidy kitchen area.
Once fully trained you will also assume responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the other chefs on their days off.


Requirements:


Experience is preferable although not essential as full training will be provided.
You will want to work as part of a kitchen team and learn new culinary skills.
You will have the desire to learn and will want to train to become a second chef in the longer term.
The ability to adhere to food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
The ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and busy environment.
Candidates must be in good physical health as you will be on your feet for most of the shift.
The ability to work evening and weekend shifts where required.
You will be a great team player.
You must be reliable and trustworthy.
