Hours: Term-time only (40 weeks per annum)
Salary: GBP11,860.00 per annum based on a 1320 annualised hour contract
This is an opportunity to join a small independent specialist college for students with learning disabilities based in Dartington, Totnes which in February 2016 was judged by OFSTED as 'Good'.
As part of the ongoing development of the College they are now seeking Learning Support Assistants to work flexibly, collaboratively and take specific responsibilities under the direction of a teacher to deliver education and training to learning disabled students. They are looking for individuals to be a key person in supporting their students who will inspire and encourage them through the transition from school and delivering the students stated outcomes to enable them to participate in independent living and working.
Applicants must have 5 A* - C grades at GCSE (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent) as well as excellent IT skills. In addition, recent experience of working with children/young people with learning difficulties within an education setting is essential. Experience of working with complex & challenging behaviour is desirable.
