Band 6 Rotational Physiotherapist - Health & Ageing Team

37.5 hours per week

The dynamic Physiotherapy department at Kings College Hospital is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the rotation of Band 6 physiotherapists specialising in rehabilitation of older people across the medical pathway. The band 6 rotation is overseen by a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist and you will work closely with experienced Band 7s, Band 5s and Physiotherapy assistants.

The rotations are 7 monthly and are currently in the following areas:

Acute Medical Unit - 7/7 service Health & Ageing Unit (Elderly Rehabilitation ward - 7/7 service) King's Older Persons' Assessment Unit (out-patients) Community Rehab and Falls Team - Within Southwark Borough Supported discharge Team Within Southwark Borough Orthopaedics Other relevant rotations as they arise As well as gaining valuable experience throughout the acute and community trust rotations, you will also get an opportunity to develop your managerial and supervisory skills. Continuing professional development is encouraged through the appraisal system and there is a well-established in service education programme. Attendance at post registration courses is supported and there are comprehensive library and computer facilities on site.

Kings College Hospital NHS Trust is a large trust providing specialist services to the region and also serving a large local population over three sites; however a cohesive team approach is maintained through regular in-service training and staff meetings. Students are also regularly on placement from local universities.

We invite applications from HCPC- registered Physiotherapists with a very sound all-round experience, including acute medicine, elderly rehab, neurological and respiratory rotations as well as a good insight into falls services and discharge planning.

The work pattern includes weekends and extended hours as required.
