Community Engagement Officer Opportunities BLUC41831

Hull

Salary: £24,500

Fixed Term Contract until March 2018

Exciting opportunities are available working with our client. The External Funding team are in the process of expanding their contract portfolio, maximising opportunities across Yorkshire and Humber to secure funding from the European Structural and Investment Fund.

To support the ongoing successful delivery of the External Funding provision they are currently looking to recruit Community Engagement Officers to join them.  These posts will be offered on a fixed term basis, and are anticipated to be for 18 months’ duration, but this will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. The roles will appeal to candidates who enjoy working in a rapidly changing sector and who enjoy being able to help shape the growth of a company.

These are rewarding roles where you can contribute directly to the growth of the local economy by joining the Humberside Apprenticeship Growth Programme or the Humber Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) project.

Identifying eligible participants for the CEIAG service or the Apprenticeship Growth programme, you will help people know how to access local services, careers support or responsive apprenticeship brokerage service, all of which are designed to meet resident and employer needs across the Humber, which are impartial and provide community enrichment and social mobility.

Working with schools, colleges, parents and employers, you will facilitate a more co-ordinated way of reaching and supporting people to help them make informed choices about careers, or how to access a responsive apprenticeship brokerage service.

These roles require you to work with community groups, agencies and other business intermediaries in order to add value and offer a responsive solution to the demands of the Humber employment market.

Successful candidates will have an NVQ Level 2 in Advice and Guidance (or a willingness to work towards this) and will have strong IT skills. With sound knowledge of Traineeship and Apprenticeship programmes OR experience of meeting stakeholder needs through recruitment, training and education, you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines and targets.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need a flexible approach as occasional evening and weekend work is necessary. Candidates must have a current and full driving licence as travel across the Humber will be required.

Please refer to the full Job Description when completing your application.

Closing Date: Wednesday 26th October 2016.

Our client is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.  All colleagues are expected to contribute to the delivery of our safeguarding strategy and values.  In addition, these posts require the colleague to undertake an enhanced disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
