The Autoimmune
Research Group have a 12 month maternity cover post for a highly motivated, PhD level immunologist to join this recently established team.
They are developing novel adoptive T cell therapies for the treatment of autoimmune disorders.
Candidates should have a broad understanding of T cell biology and excellent communication skills. The key experimental skills for this posts are experience of T cell culture, flow cytometry and familiarity with basic molecular techniques.
Training can be provided as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Describe the essential duties, providing an estimate of time for each responsibility. Use maximum increments of 5% with a total of 100%


Laboratory based research 60%


Planning experiments and recording of data 20%


Presenting/discussing data with colleagues in group meetings 5%


Administrative and other duties to support team 10%


Awareness of current literature 5%

T cell culture

Flow cytometry


Experience with human T cells

Familiarity with basic molecular techniques eg molecular biology kits, PCR

Assays eg Elispot, Elisa, cytoxicity

Decision making authority

Effective time management and planning of own work schedule.
