This company has an exciting opportunity for an experienced mid-weight Graphic Designer to join the Marketing team to work in-house for London's local DIY stores of choice.

This is an exciting time to join the company; boasting 18 stores across central London and with more on the horizon, the business is in a rapid state of growth and is currently one of the most recognisable and trusted retailers for paint and DIY projects in Central London.

About the role:

You'll be working on a range of new and exciting projects including developing brand guidelines, advertisements, on-line material including web and social media graphics, POS, packaging and many more varied projects.

From window displays to packaging, the applicant would need to have a good understanding of below the line advertising, have a retail and branding design background with at least 2-4 years' experience within the design industry.

The successful applicant would be reporting to and taking briefs from the Marketing Manager and would need to be capable of understanding and interpreting briefs and adding creative value. The successful applicant will be working alongside an experienced mid-weight designer as well an intern designer so excellent team and motivational skills are essential to the role.

Requirements:

- You will have 2-4 years of experience working in the design field either in-house or agency.
- BA (Hons) in Graphic Design.
- Excellent typographic and layout skills.
- A strong portfolio which demonstrates a natural creative flair, bold designs and a thorough understanding of branding.
- Experience of designing brochures, leaflets and other printed collateral.
- Advanced knowledge in Adobe Illustrator.
- Thorough understanding of Photoshop and InDesign.

Personal qualities:

- A flexible approach to design - you are able to take and give feedback constructively.
- Responsible attitude, managing a high standard of work, completed within tight project timelines.
- Passion for design and keen to find new ways to develop as a designer.

Bonus:
- Strong copywriting skills.
- Knowledge of decorating, DIY or trade.

Proficiency across all Adobe creative suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and In Design is essential, as is the ability to produce print ready artwork. Experience with photography is also preferred.
