Communications & Marketing Assistant (circa £18,000)

Are you an enthusiastic marketer with experience of digital marketing, PR and Social Media?

If so, you could be just who we are looking for - a self-motivated individual full of enthusiasm and great ideas. You'll also need good project management skills, experience in a similar role and a passion for communications and PR to really drive our strategy forward.

Your main duties will involve:

  • Support AfPP's internal and external communications to members and stakeholders and undertake pro-active PR helping to increase AfPP's market profile and visibility.

  • Manage and develop AfPP's website content, incorporating the use of webinars, podcasts and videos to support communications and using Google Analytics for metrics and Google Adwords for targeted awareness of AfPP's key benefits on the web.

  • Integrate and further develop social media and YouTube communication channels.

  • Develop and implement online and offline marketing campaigns and support advertising/sales opportunities which maintain and develop AfPP's income streams in line with agreed business plan objectives.

  • Produce internal and external communications to members and stakeholders.

  • Develop effective campaigns and materials to increase membership growth and retention; targeting key sectors, using cost-effective joined-up channels, especially digital, continually improving content and appearance of both electronic and print communications to ensure maximum effectiveness.

Knowledge and skills required:

  • An understanding of marketing communication channels and techniques, including media, social media, direct mail, web and digital.

  • Experience of effective targeted communications and PR in local and national media.

  • An understanding of marketing production techniques, including working within an agency/client relationship, design and copy process and print buying.

  • Awareness of how to match products and services to customers/market needs.

  • Experience of desktop publishing (Photoshop, Indesign and Publisher).

  • Knowledge of CRM databases, management and interrogation of them.

  • Working to meet clear marketing and sales targets, objectives and standards.

  • Ability to use own initiative, create and develop new ideas; working both autonomously and as part of a team.
