The company client is a regulatory Consultancy services organisation whose key objective is to help firms raise standards thereby enabling them to safeguard their reputation, mitigate regulatory risk and ensure positive outcomes for customers. This compliance advisory has a key USP in the market which offers an end to end approach across four 'service lines' (Regulation, People & Culture, Business Improvement, and Assurance) delivering and embedding a long term compliant culture in line with the regulator's vision.
They are now looking to hire a driven and articulate Senior Consultant for their team office based in Berkshire.

Job description:

* The overarching aim of the Regulatory Consulting Team is to advise and assist clients in order to protect and enhance business value by identifying and managing regulatory compliance risk.
* The regulatory Consultancy services team advises and assists clients to achieve and sustain compliance and manage risk in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* The core focus of all consulting roles is the delivery of consulting assignments working predominately at client sites.
* A Consultant builds on technical expertise in regulation to complete projects successfully.

Main duties for this role will involve:

* Contribute to the implementation of the business plan for the Regulatory Consulting Team, in line with strategic objectives.
* Be an ambassador for the business in client and stakeholder relationships.
* Ensure quality of their output and client delivery.
* Meet standards for the Regulatory Consulting Team on risk management, cost control and resource utilisation.
* Value added contribution to the Consulting team.
* Contribute to the delivery of financial and organisational targets in line with the agreed business plan.
* Development of good working relationships. Have a good understanding of the core proposition and are able to communicate this effectively to clients.
* Ensure high levels of utilisation and seek to identify opportunities on current projects and in the wider market.
* To identify development opportunities in line with their own PDPs and the wider Consulting objectives.

Background and competencies required:

* Good level of knowledge in Retail Conduct Risk related issues.
* Understanding of the FSA including both current and emerging issues affecting firms and its approach to supervision.
* A good track record of consulting and problem solving in teams and on projects.
* Experience of liaising with firms and building stakeholder relationships.
* Able to demonstrate previous experience in UK Retail Financial Services, including regulation, market activity, competitor activity and industry trends.
* Good communicator with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Holder of Financial Services Qualifications or working towards.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
