Salary up to £21K depending on experience, pension, 25 days holiday
This is a permanent position.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician/Assistant to join the world’s largest producer of printing inks and pigments. This role provides a great platform for someone who wants to acquire better knowledge of the processes within a Laboratory.

The role
The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for ensuring the stock levels of lab consumables as used within the Research & Development laboratories are kept stocked at all times. Support sampling activities in the Customer Support team through raw material harvesting, ink making and product testing to meet the quick-changing demands of the customer. To aid laboratory personnel with the general upkeep and housekeeping of the laboratories.

Duties include:
- Ensuring consumables are replenished and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- General housekeeping within a laboratory environment.
- Moving materials and finished goods around the site.
- Communication and reporting of results on the relevant systems.
- Some manufacture of small quantities of ink or coating in the laboratory.
- limited Ink evaluation and testing of raw material samples.

What you’ll need:
- Educated to GCSE Level
- Experience of working in a Laboratory
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team
- Methodical and approach to practical work
- Fork lift truck, not essential
