The Department of Children and Learning are looking for an Advisory Teacher for children on the Autism Spectrum to coordinate the provision of advice and support for pupils with social communication needs in Luton's schools, provide training and be a point of reference for teachers and staff on pupils' social communication needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with schools and staff to provide a service for children with autism and aspergers syndrome.

The primary focus of the Advisory Teacher's work will be with children in KS 2, 3 and 4. Luton has 6 nursery schools with resourced provision for pupils with special educational needs, 9 Infant schools, 9 Junior schools and 32 Primary schools.

There are 14 High schools in the borough. There are two high school SCD provisions, and one primary provision.
