And we place collaboration at the heart of everything we do and are a dynamic university with a vibrant and growing research culture. With ever growing student numbers, we make sure our people are engaged and empowered by blending digital technologies, international perspectives, work-oriented connections and inspirational teaching. About the role

This is an exciting, rewarding and varied communications role at the heart of the University's developing research activities. The Communications and Impact Officer will provide dedicated communications support to celebrate and showcase research activities at the University. This will involve supporting academic researchers in developing and writing impact case studies for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) and identifying research outcomes for external communications activities including PR.

This post holder will also help foster good communications practice across the University to facilitate interdisciplinary research activities, and create good practice for capturing evidence and outcomes for the REF.

About you (requirements)

As a professional communicator with a successful record in a similar role (journalism, press office, research etc.) behind you, you'll work as part of both the Communications Team and Research Support Office to support research activities through internal and external communications.

With proven abilities in understanding, evidencing and communicating the impact of academic research, the post holder will work closely with academic staff to realise and demonstrate research impact. The post holder will be managed by the Head of Communications, but split their time between the University's Communication Team and Research Support Office. This will require the ability to travel between two or more University campuses.
