The Ferguson Fawsitt Arms in Walkington is currently looking for an experienced Chef de Partie or current Sous Chef to join its established team. The position is required to deal with the increase in trade for this large and newly refurbished pub. The role will require the successful candidate to run starter or dessert sections on busy shifts, and take control of services on quieter shifts.
As the ideal candidate you will have experience in cooking fresh fish, meat and game, running a busy service, keeping up food standards and understand the importance of portion control and waste reduction within a busy kitchen environment. As the pub also holds many events, experience in banqueting and conference operations would be an advantage.
Ideally you will have recent experience of working within a pub selling fresh food from an ordered menu, working well under pressure and adapting quickly to new menus and systems and experience of running a section, as well as a Food Hygiene certificate, and preferably a level 3 in Professional Cookery.
This position will be working 40+ hours per week.
