Perth & Kinross Council is seeking a specialist HGV Mechanic / Technician to operate within Fleet Management. Applicants must have knowledge, skills and experience in the repair & maintenance of heavy goods and light vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring that the Councils fleet of vehicles are maintained to both VOSAs and those of Perth & Kinross Council standards.
The applicant must be a time served Motor Vehicle Mechanic or Technician, and preferably have experience of the repair & maintenance of commercial vehicles, heavy plant and equipment and a working knowledge of hydraulic repairs. Holding an LGV C+E licence would be advantageous.
The post holder may be required to carry out MOT & Taxi Testing duties if holding the qualification or be willing to achieve these skills through training.
You will have the ability to work within a pressured environment and being able to meet own and team deadlines is vital.
Successful candidates who have been short listed will be required to complete an analytical & numerical analysis test along with a practical workshop assessment.
The workshop operates a shift system consisting of an early shift, back shift and weekend working on a rotational basis.
Therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidates to participate in these working patterns.
