Salary: Point 16: £16,969 pro-rata (includes participation on out of hours telephone on-call rota)
Part-time – 20 hours per week
Established in 1999, Next Link provides a range of domestic abuse support services to women and children within Bristol, BaNES and South Glos.
Next Link has been successful in the re-commissioning process to deliver Bristol’s domestic abuse safe house and community support services. Our new integrated service delivery team is expanding and we have a number of exciting opportunities for creative and highly motivated women with a broad understanding of domestic abuse issues, complex needs and a commitment to providing a high-quality inclusive service within Bristol.
Duty Helpline Workers are responsible for providing a high-quality telephone crisis response service providing advice, information, advocacy and support to women and children experiencing domestic abuse; families; professionals and other users of the helpline.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of providing telephone or 1-1 support to vulnerable people
- An understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children
- The ability to assess risk and need and support the victim to put an action plan in place
- The ability to provide respectful, non-judgemental, and confidential support to women and their children
- The ability to respond effectively in a crisis situation
