Teacher in Carpentry and Joinery

Up to £30,710

37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated construction team at a Southampton based College.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Construction department and work within our Carpentry & Joinery team. Within this role you will teach on a variety of courses and will be contributing to the on-going development of this fast growing curriculum.

The successful candidate will; undertake complete an initial assessment of learners, carry out reviews as well as provide instruction, guidance and support to learners and assess candidates' performance against agreed standards. You will assist with the internal verification process, implementing and maintaining the College policies and procedures.

The essential criterion for this vacancy is a Level 3 qualification in the relevant sector area. You will also have recent relevant commercial or industrial experience within the occupational area and experience of coordinating competence based programmes and liaising with work based providers/employers. A1 Assessor award, V1 qualification and experience of using e-portfolio would be advantageous. Further details can be found in the job description.

Working from our St Mary's site, your role will focus primarily on delivering high quality teaching and training to apprentices and full time learners.

You will be able to work as part of the team or individually and have good interpersonal skills.

The salary offered is up to £30,710, plus pension, 39 days annual leave and statutory bank holidays. The salary is dependent on experience and negotiable for the right candidate.
