Hire Controller / Hire Manager - Tool Hire

You will be joining the Wembley branch of this award-winning independent tool and equipment services company, which serves contractors working in London and the Home Counties from its three large depots. With an outstanding reputation, gained over 30 years, they take great care in choosing friendly and professional individuals who share their motivation to deliver unrivalled customer service.

This is an interesting and rewarding commercial role, which involves working as part of an office-based team of hire controllers who coordinate the activities of the depot. As such, you will work closely with the depot manager as well as the broader team of workshop fitters and drivers. Day to day, you will be involved in the following:

- Customers - building relationships, providing advice, processing orders, promoting additional products and services

- Stock (tools and equipment) - monitoring levels, maximising utilisation, dealing with breakdowns, placing orders with suppliers

- Logistics - enabling same-day and next-day deliveries, supporting drivers on the telephone, contributing to transport schedules

The right person will be a confident communicator who enjoys the challenge and responsibility of contributing to a busy workplace, while building good relationships with customers. You should be an experienced administrator of both paperwork and IT systems, with the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure. A good knowledge of the industry and/or equipment is vital.

Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 to 17:00 with occasional Saturday mornings

Holiday: 28 days, rising to 33 after five years' service (includes bank holidays)

Salary: negotiable, depending on experience (£24,000 - £28,000)
