We are currently working in conjunction with one of the country's leading fresh produce businesses. As a result of an internal promotion, they are currently looking to appoint an experienced Sales Director to oversee their commercial operations. Reporting into the CEO, you will devise and implement the company's strategy, ensuring this is aligned with your customers, as closely as possible.
As the Sales Director, you will be responsible for leading an experienced and effective team of Commercial Managers and Account Managers, to ensure the best possible results for the business. You will be working very closely with the procurement teams and their associated growers, to ensure you have the correct quantities and preferred varieties for your various customers. You will oversee the Category Management team as well and empower them to make suggestions for the good of the business. Another key part of your role, will be ensuring the professional development of your team is done in a structured and effective way.
Experience of the fresh produce industry will be a distinct advantage, but a background in fresh food/manufacturing will be required as a minimum. The right person will be able take a bigger picture view and ensure the sales strategies are in line with this. It will be essential to work as part of a close knit team, to ensure the business is working as effectively as possible. Having the ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, is vital.
