The role of the Site Supervisor:
The purpose of the Site Supervisor role is to support the manager in the day-to-day delivery of the Capstone HWRC facility, it’s development and the site staff. You will make sure corporate targets are met especially in terms of H&S, profitability, recycling and best possible customer service through the service delivery.

You will support the Contract Manager in ensuring the HWRC is being operated and maintained in a safe and professional manner, in accordance with the Waste Management Licence, Planning Permission and contractual requirements. You may also be required to cover a similar role in neighbouring HWRC sites.

Site Supervisor responsibilities:
The Site Supervisor responsibilities include:
• Monitoring and reporting on the standards of service delivered, setting targets that deliver continuous improvement in particular for recycling achievement and customer satisfaction
• Implementing a maintenance schedule for the facilities and associated infrastructure
• Assisting the Contract and Transport Manager to ensure that the infrastructure and new site developments are managed and delivered
• To be conversant with the Waste Management License, Working Plan, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Emergency Procedures
• Ensure that plant/HGV’s maintenance is carried out
• Maximize recycling rates identifying opportunities, promoting the facilities and publishing recycling rates
• Co-ordinating and recording data to ensure that reports are produced
• Working with staff to ensure compliance with the Company’s Integrated Quality Management System and site filing system (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 50001) and support continuous improvement in service delivery, including resolution of complaints relating to the services delivered under the Contract
• Assist with recruitment, manage and develop site staff ensuring appropriate training is provided
• Be responsible for the Health and Safety of direct reports and others working on the contract and public using the site. Manage staff fully in accordance with our staff handbook and HR policy
• Managing plant and resources, including site operatives to optimise the safe and productive operation of the facility
• Train and mentor site operatives and deal with performance and disciplinary issues under guidance of the site manager

To be our Site Supervisor, you will need experience of:
• Working in a waste operation in a team leader or supervisor capacity
• COTC – Transfer of non hazardous/hazardous waste (preferred)
• IOSHH – Institution of Occupational Safety and Health qualification or equivalent (preferred)
• CPC (preferred)
