Job Description:

Overview of the role: This role involves producing a number of one-day, multi-day, multi-track conferences designed to attract technology professionals working in the data centre industry or healthcare technology industry. DCD conferences deliver industry-leading events which attract considerable sponsorship revenue. We therefore work to design conferences whose content, format and quality is such that:Attendees take away cutting-edge, insightful regional content from key industry thought leadersSponsors get to meet large, senior and diverse audiences of qualified buyers and purchase influencers, offering a solid, measurable return on investment for our customersSponsors have a platform to set out their thought leadership credential and thereby influence the purchase decisions of prospective customers Key objectives: A successful DCD conference producer will:Create profitable, sustainable market-led events designed to connect sponsors and exhibitors with qualified buyers and purchase influencesProject manage their events from end-to-end, driving all other functions for the success of the eventKeep primary research at the core of the process - designing high quality agendas and acquiring top level speakers that meet the needs of the target audienceWrite concise, persuasive copy which SELLS the BENEFITS of sponsoring or attending DCD eventsWork closely and smoothly with our sponsorship sales, delegate sales and marketing teams in order to maximise event revenueConsistently produce events to key deadlines, budget and a market-leading standard Duties: Research and programme developmentTelephone research with past delegates, speakers, and sponsors, and potential delegates, sponsorship prospects, prospective speakers, industry analysts etc. to identify programme contenProvide marketing/sponsorship with as many new sources and leads for each eventMaintain appropriate and accessible records of your research in the project fileWrite a high quality content-driven conference agenda reflecting the information needs of the target marketCreate detailed briefing materials presenting research findings to colleagues to define: key topics, industry context, event history and format, USPs, target audience, competitor events, speakers, potential sponsors, media partners, and a full SWOT analysis to drive the direction and profitability of the event Speaker AcquisitionMeet defined targets: number, seniority, international spread, diversity of 'buy-side' speakersSpeak personally with all speakers, qualifying not only the expertise and reputation but also their ability to offer lively, engaging presentationsWork to deliver speaker panels comprising well-known experts, international insights, and less exposed speakers who can offer fresh new insightsWork closely with speakers provided by our sponsors to ensure cutting-edge thought-leading content is delivered that supports the programme and meets the audience's information needs, as opposed to sales-based messageDeliver a high-quality speaker panel within budget, being careful to control travel expenses etc. CopywritingTake primary responsibility for the content of the conference agenda and marketing materialsCreate copy that SELLS the BENEFITS of attending and sponsoringEnsure that our copy remains authoritative and relevant - speaking to its audience in the language of the industryTake primary responsibility for meeting all copy deadlinesDrive audience engagement and bookings through social media by providing relevant and impactful updates and discussion points Collaboration with sales and marketingAct as the project manager of the event, driving the sales and marketing teams, developing new ideas to generate revenueProvide marketing, sales and sponsorship with the appropriate briefs and any other essential information which will aid the event's exposure and revenue Deadline ManagementMeet all project deadlines including programme development, speaker acquisition, turning over information for marketing, events management, sponsorship etc. Collaboration with Operations and FinanceLiaise closely with the events teams sourcing venues and locations which are appropriate for the industry-led event you are runningEnsure your programme structure including streams and plenaries accurately reflects what the company has budgetedWork closely with sales to ensure we are on track for revenue delivery Onsite Event Management & Post Event ResponsibilitiesUnderstand that project management is a critical part of this role and that the Producer takes overall responsibility for the event and therefore must be satisfied with all aspects of deliveryActively troubleshoot and deal with problems as they arise in close collaboration with the other teams involvedOn the day management of speakers and Chairs to ensure the smooth running of the eventOpen the event and welcome the audience in a short opening speechSit in on conference sessions to identify new topics/feedbackKeep conference running to time and ensure that the Chairs have been appropriately briefed on how to achieve thisNetwork with attendees to build valuable new contacts and identify future topic ideasAnalyse evaluation forms and lead the creation of post-event press releases, reports etc.Update the website with post-event copyLead a post-event de-brief meeting to gather valuable feedback from all key stakeholdersWrite a post-event report identifying opportunities for improvement and growth Experience:2 years of experienceCopywriting skillsProject Management skillsKnowledge of Project Management and Website Management toolsCommercial awarenessInterest in IT / Tech Industry Person specification :Previous experience in Conference Production - at least 2 years' experience in a commercial environmentStrong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlinesA high degree of interest in IT/ Tech industry trendsStrategic thinking and forward planningExcellent interpersonal and communications skills Package: Salary - from GBP25,000 to GBP28,000 per annum depending on experienceCommission scheme - up to 30% of basic salary - based on events profitability
