IT Project Engineer

Salary: £150 per day
Term: 4-6 Month Contract

This company is a distributor of electronics components, based in York with offices in Italy, China, Canada and USA. They are looking for an IT Project Engineer to manage a variety of Windows and Linux servers.

They are seeking to appoint a talented and committed IT Project Engineer to perform a key role in managing and maintaining a mixture of Windows and Linux Servers as well as a range of IT project work.

Candidates must have experience with both Windows and Linux Servers, MySQL, Office 365, networking and good customer service skills. In return, you will be working with a wide range of technologies as part of a friendly and dedicated team, in a great environment. The ideal candidate should have experience of working in a dynamic environment, requiring constant updating of knowledge in both the technical and procedural aspects of the job.

The Role

- To migrate the current domain from OpenLDAP to Active directory
- To replace all of the current logon scripts with Group Policy (Drive mappings, printers etc)
- To replace the VyOS Firewall with SonicWALL devices,
- Migrate the current Linux Clustered File System to SANS (Dell or HP)
- Proactively maintain the Infrastructure during the migration process
- To participate as a project resource as and when required

Experience (candidates should have a mixture of the below, certainly not ALL of them - job experience will fill the gaps)

The candidate should have experience of the following:
- Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 10
- Linux Server experience (Fedora preferred)
- OpenLDAP Experience
- Active Directory/ GPO deployment and configuration
- Microsoft Office suite
- HyperV
- Networking knowledge covering LAN/vLAN/WAN technologies
- MS Office 365
- SonicWALL Firewall and Secure Remote Access appliances
- MySQL/SQL
