As a major provider of further, higher and adult education to over 10,000 students, their staff have quality at the heart of everything they do.
As their Student Engagement Advisor, you will provide a comprehensive and flexible presence at the Student Support Centre, daily student communal activity areas and at other sites, providing support around a diverse range of issues as well as programmes enrichment and Students’ Union opportunities.
You will lead on enrichment event/Students’ Union delivery and constructively engage students in designated common room areas with activities during their leisure time to help them maintain appropriate standards of behaviour. You will also assist learners to complete internal application forms for financial funds and check all financial support applications eligibility for funding, including the assessment of household incomes in accordance with funding criteria.
Qualified to Level 3 or above, the successful candidate will have experience of youth and community work and be willing to work towards achieving a relevant professional qualification if required. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to build rapport with a wide range of customers and have experience of leading on the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and events to support and enhance the student experience.
With knowledge of safeguarding practices, data protection regulations and referral procedures in relation to student information, you will have experience of designing/delivering student workshops or tutorials to a diverse range of students and have empathy when dealing with young people and the factors that could potentially impact on student success.
