Looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to bring a new dimension to our client. The role is based in their Darlington office and the hours can be flexible to suit the right candidate.

Company Description:
Our client is a leading paraplanning company in the UK, with offices in Darlington. They have been established for over seven years and provide paraplanning support to advisers nationwide.

They are growing rapidly and are looking for a Marketing Manager to take over the marketing and promotions side of the business, to help retain existing clients and attract new ones.

Job Description:
This is a brand new role and so requires a person who can bring skills, experience and ideas to it.

The job is to support the existing team and the Client Relationship Manager, ensuring existing clients are receiving regular communications and extensive promotion is undertaken to raise awareness of our client within the financial services industry and attract new clients.

Role Includes:

Full management and co-ordination of all company marketing activity. This will include creating and designing a high level strategy, before focusing on the implementation of this.

The role will include sourcing and liaising with third parties as required; such as developers, designers and web support.

It will also involve working closely with the Customer Relationship Manager to ensure they have all the content and materials they require to enable them to produce and retain clients.

Specific areas to work on will be; website management, blog creation, newsletter creation, events, producing marketing material, collection of client data, arranging market research and questionnaires.

The Marketing Manager will also handle all social media activity (primarily Linkedin and Twitter) and plan and implement promotional campaigns.

Essentially the role will be to ensure that all communication is professional, cohesive and accurate.

You will also be up for helping out in all other areas of the business. As a small, but quickly growing, company, the work they do, and the methods they use change frequently. You should be able to accommodate this and help suggest improvements where you see them. And you shouldn't be afraid to make a cup of tea!

Candidate Requirements:

At least 3 years marketing experience. Financial services knowledge is not essential, although would be a bonus.

Likewise, a marketing qualification would be preferential, but they're just as keen to meet people with solid experience and the ability to bring new ideas to the company and to develop the role into something they own. Evidence of strong project management experience and a good creative outlook is also required.

And our client would really like to see enthusiasm; someone not afraid to roll their sleeves up, get stuck in and ask lots of questions.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Be comfortable on computers
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication – grammar being of particular importance.

The behavioural and personality traits they look out for are:

  • Team player; an often stated point but incredibly important in a small company
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Self discipline and responsibility; this is a very busy company and we will provide as much support as we can, but there simply isn't time for hand holding!

Our client is a very modern company; having only been established just over 7 years, they run a paperless office, have an early finish on a Friday, Macs for the whole team and regular team days out; they work hard to find an excuse for wine! Above all, they just try to do the very best job they can for their clients and want team members who can help support that.

The basic salary for this role is negotiable depending on experience, and can be pro rata if role is to be less than full time. A bonus of between 1.5% and 7.5% will be payable each year, subject to performance and other metrics.
