An independent special school based in Croydon for students with social, emotional and attachment difficulties, particularly challenging behaviour and/or additional complex needs.

This school has a proven record of helping students make exceptional progress with learning, social skills and employability. The head teacher is looking for an enthusiastic and caring Teaching assistant to support the learning and development of these pupils.

This role involves support in the classroom and includes physical work and personal care of pupils. You do not need to have previous experience as full training will be provided for successful candidates.

The school has 6 sites in total based in Croydon, 1 site for primary age groups and 5 sites for Secondary. The age ranges from 5-19 years. The students have all been permanently excluded from mainstream schools.

The head teacher will be looking for graduates with good subject knowledge, strong minded and with a sense of humour! The head is outstanding in this school and looks for candidates who have a genuine passion to teach and support young people.

Candidate Requirements:

* Must be eligible to work in the UK
* Recent Graduates at degree level, Psychology graduates preferred
* Child related experience, SEN experience preferred
* Good subject knowledge - English and Maths Grade C or above or equivalent
* Passion to work with SEN, high resilience and willingness to learn and take part
* A positive and caring approach with previous experience of supporting children, SEN experience would be desirable
* Able to commit to the full academic year
