The Job

VetPartners are now looking to add to their senior management team with the appointment of a Group Financial Controller. This role will support the Finance Director in ensuring that accurate financial records are maintained, financial transactions are promptly and accurately processed, high quality information is provided to the business and that the Group's assets are safeguarded. The role has line responsibility for 20 + multi location finance staff within the Group and must be able to deputise for the Finance Director in his absence. Your duties will involve:

* Managing the preparation of monthly financial information including management accounts, consolidated management accounts and VAT return packs
* Reviewing monthly payroll and supplier BACS payments
* Managing the Group's rolling cash flow and profit forecasts
* Managing the preparation of the annual budget update
* Managing the completion of the annual audit, statutory financial statements and coordinate corporation tax returns for the 20+ companies within the Group, including consolidation
* Working alongside the Head of Acquisitions and Head of Integration to efficiently and effectively integrate acquired practices into the Group
* Supporting FD in completion of debt fund raising
* Delivery of ad-hoc financial and business projects as agreed with the Finance Director
* Liaison with external advisers and funders
* Provide support and guidance to other Managers and Directors re: financial matters and work alongside the Finance Projects Manager in Group-wide strategic and operational business projects
* Support FD in identifying and sponsoring business improvement initiatives both within the Finance Dept and Group-wide in line with the Group's strategic objectives

The Person

For this high profile role , the ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant CIMA/ACA/ACCA with the ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels. You will have a good attention to detail in all aspects of the role and consistently producing work to the highest standard. Previous experience working in a PE backed environment would be desirable and experience of corporate transaction, due diligence and acquisition integration experience would also be advantageous

This role also requires someone with a "can"do attitude, with tenacity and a strong desire to develop and progress in a dynamic and commercial environment.
