The Assistant Management Accountant will be responsible for supporting the
GMAT(Group Management Accounts Team) on a day to day basis. The primary areas of focus and responsibility will reside in any Property/Home related matters such as Occupancy and Overheads, ensuring that costs are accurate
and reviewed regularly. This will mean that the impact of any changes in occupancy or capacity will
have been considered on costs. I.e. Council tax and empty properties.

Key Accountabilities:

• Occupancy is currently reported centrally by the GMAT. The AMA will be responsible for gathering in the data for occupancy movements in each of the six divisions on a weekly basis and reporting the occupancy position on a regular timely basis. The AMA will communicate with the Sales Ledger Team on a regular basis and will work collaboratively with them to ensure that information they have received on occupancy is shared so all income billing will be accurate. Impacts income and occupancy reports.

• Capacity - will be responsible for managing and collating the changes in capacity by home on
a monthly basis. The changes should be summarised on a divisional level and presented to
the Directors for authorization/approval.

Bank Reconciliations

The group currently has 80 subsidiary companies and most of these has their own bank account , the group main account has 1500 transactions per month and all these require at least a monthly reconciliation.

• Overheads and Analysis

Prepayments - These are generated for all divisions centrally. The costs are posted in the period the invoices are received initially and on a monthly basis any costs requiring deferral or prepayment are identified and accounted for by the AMA. The AMA will be responsible for identifying the prepayments, posting the journal after it has been reviewed by the Management Accountants and producing the schedule of prepayments for the balance
sheet reconciliations and ensuring reconciliation is done to the trial balance.

Accruals - Part of the prepayments process is to ensure that all Overheads costs for the divisions are posted correctly. This will involve reviewing the transactions to identify where costs are missing and accruing where necessary or questioning where charges are significantly higher than expected.

• Journals are sent to the GMAT on a monthly basis. The AMA will be supporting the GMAT to review the journals and to ensure that the sufficient back up is collated. Posting of the journals subject to approval from the Management Accountants will be required.

• Ad hoc reporting and analysis is required and may be frequent.
