The role of the Credit Manager, is to manage the approval (voting process) of both the Corporate Dealer and Corporate Non Dealer portfolio, plus those accounts that are in Problem Loan Management (PLM) and Intensified Loan Management (ILM) as defined by the I-OHB and L-OHB handbooks. The role must focus on risk mitigation. However, this must be done my managing the credit risk, reputational risk and strategic alignment to Volkswagen Group and Volkswagen Bank GmbH / Volkswagen Financial Services (UK).

The Credit Manager must have a holistic view of the of all of the lending for both the Dealer and Non Dealer portfolios and provide consultation to Banking Services, MAN FS and the Specialist Lending Unit regarding dealer indicators and advise on potential risk mitigation activities.

For non-performing loans (PLM & ILM) the Credit Manager will lead the negotiations with external agencies to ensure that VWFS and VWB's losses are minimised.

All duties and responsibilities shown below as well as any additional tasks will be carried out in accordance with the requirements described above and any other regulations, statutes, policies and procedures.

Day to day management of the portfolio of PLM, ILM and Back Office voting Including:
• The preparation of scheduled reviews.
• Review of Credit packs following Front Office votes.
• Management of Back Office votes in line with defined credit competencies.
• Collation of ongoing borrower MI, including but not limited to, management accounts, composite submissions and Bank statements
• Liaison with PLM & ILM accounts regarding trading activity and performance vs. budget
• Liaison with key personnel (including Business Owners and Financial Directors.)
• Negotiation of credit limits and securities with borrowers, including liaison with other lenders and professionals.
• Make recommendations to the PLM & ILM accounts regarding financial processes to ensure future trading and viability.
• Liaison with Legal Services regarding PLM & ILM accounts. Including the enforcement of securities and risk mitigation activities within the legal framework of the wholesale funding arrangements.
• Monitor the specific provisions of the PLM borrowers and ensure that all PLM dealers are provided for at an adequate level and within the overall parameters of the I-OHB and L-OHB.
• Represent Marktfolge in the Dealer Risk and Franchise Review Meetings or Corporate Non Dealer review meetings and provide updates regarding the current trading positions of all the PLM & ILM accounts.
• Lead VWFS and VWB's understanding of Insolvency processes, taking a proactive approach to managing key relationships with motor finance specialists (Grant Thornton, KPMG, UHY Hacker Young etc.)
• Represent VWFS or VWB at key stakeholder meetings usually arising as part of a funding group to pre-empt an insolvency process.
• Act as a key point of liaison with VWG Network Development to ensure that VWB has a full understanding of VWG's planned activities for PLM & ILM accounts.
• Review audit compliance reports in accordance with agreed procedures.
• External customer visits as required.
• Liaison with Front Office.
• Other duties as required by the Chief Risk Officer or General Manager (Credit Assessment).

NOTE: The incumbent of this role will be a VW Bank employee. As this role is deemed to have significant influence, it falls under the Certified Population element of the FCA's Senior Manager Regime (SMR). As a result of this the incumbent will be registered with the FCA as a Certified Person and will be subject to annual certification to evidence continued competence.

Skills and Experience Required

Skills and Experience
• Experience in Financial Services and/or motor industry.
• Proven knowledge and experience of underwriting, covering wholesale and retail underwriting.
• A strong understanding of Balance Sheets, analysis of ratios and securities.
• Clear understanding of insolvency processes.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Well-developed communication skills.
• Ability to understand and interpret financial information.
• Proven negotiating skills at Board and senior management level.
• Proven customer relationship management ability.
• Debt recovery and insolvency management experience an advantage.
• Relevant professional and/or industry recognised qualification an advantage.
