Company Fusion Limited is with a well established Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors with over 50 years of experience providing accounting, tax and business advice services, helping businesses improve their performance and individuals plan for the future. We now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Tax Manager to join their busy team in Banbury.

The Package - What You Could Earn:

-Basic salary up to GBP55,000 depending on experience
-Commission of 25% of the first years fees is paid on new business
-37.5 hr per week
-The Firm provides a BUPA cover to employees who have satisfactorily completed 2 years service. This is a single person policy but family can be added for a small cost.
-In addition to private medical the Firm offer a cash plan which allows employees to claim cash back on certain medical expenses such as dental, optical and orthopaedic treatment and other minor claims.
-You are entitled to be paid holidays of 23 working days (22 for trainees) (pro rate if part time) in addition to Bank Holidays (pro rata if part time) during the working year which runs until the 31st day of March in each year. Up to 3 additional days can be purchased or 3 days sold back to the firm.
-On joining the Firm on a permanent basis, an employee`s life is insured for three times their annual basic salary. Payment is made to the employee`s next of kin in the event of an employee dying whilst in the service of the Firm.

-Our client has auto enrolled and offers the standard 1% employer and 1% employee contribution from commencement of employment. In addition to this the Firm provides a personal pension plan to employees who have satisfactorily completed 2 years service. The scheme is currently non contributory and details can be provided on request.

Tax Manager - Main Duties and Responsibilities:

-Providing technical knowledge & experience to support the taxation services of the firm.
-Main role will be to support the provision of high level tax advisory services across the Firm and on your own portfolio. This is predominantly an advisory role being approximately 80% advisory and 20% compliance
-This will include complex tax assignments focussing on corporate and business taxes, along with; IHT, CGT, VAT and Stamp Duty Land Tax services
-Creating new business opportunities and provide a cost-effective, timely, quality service to the client, so as to maximise margin for the firm
-Assist with planning, organising, leading and controlling the work of the Tax & Wealth Planning Department
-Provide exceptional levels of service to both Corporate and Personal clients on a wide variety of tax specific areas. These services will include strategic planning, transactional advice and managing project work. All service must be on a cost effective & timely basis
-Provide support and assistance in the management of tax compliance activities
-Work with Partners and autonomously to create and deliver innovative solutions for our clients. This will involve proactive tax planning, delivering a unique benefit to existing and potential clients, truly adding value to our client`s businesses and individual wealth
-Seeking to gain experience by taking on more advanced work from the partners. This will include delegating more routine work to others, thereby aiding cost-effectiveness and adding to interest/training within the Department
-Working independently and assisting the Partners in taking responsibility for the proactive promotion of the firm in conjunction with the marketing department. This will specifically focus on the Tax and Wealth Planning such that clients, prospects, contact and relevant associated bodies are aware of the services we offer
-Actively promoting the growth of the firm in key geographical regions, requiring regular (weekly) travel to Kettering and other sites where required
-Seek to identify business and personal tax planning opportunities as part of the review process. Drawing to attention of partners/ clients as appropriate. Preparation of necessary reports/computations etc, liaising with other professional advisers as required
-Act as a focal point of tax knowledge within the firm, proactively disseminating that knowledge to relevant individuals to actively improve the overall tax ability within the firm. Assist with tax training across the firm
-Manage the Tax & Wealth Planning Department to meet departmental objectives through planning. This includes completing staff appraisals, monitoring and effective delegation, utilising the skills and knowledge within the existing team and sourcing additional knowledge. Providing relevant feedback (good and bad!) and training
-Reviewing tax work performed by more junior staff
-Along with the Partners take ownership of controlling WIP by progressing work to completion/ billing point swiftly. Liaising with partners re WIP and raising bills/ assisting as required.

The Person - Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

-You must have ATT, CTA or equivalent tax qualification and a relevant Degree or equivalent
-You will ideally be ACCA or ACA qualified
-You will have 2 -3 years proven tax experience as a manager within a practice environment
-You will be a good networker and have strong presence and excellent communication skills; able to quickly builds rapport and trust
-You will be organised and highly confidential with excellent attention to detail
-You will be a resilient and energetic achiever and self-motivated
-You will be creative and analytical; a quick thinker
-Strong marketing, networking and business development skills

-In depth Corporate/Business Tax and Personal Tax knowledge
-Knowledge of Tax return production software and their uses and benefits
-Solid MS Office products knowledge
-You will be prepared to be flexible in your working hours and travel to other offices as per business requirements
