This company is one of the top 3 players in Europe in its sector, based in Calne, Wiltshire; manufacturing products that contribute to building sustainable homes, they are designed and manufactured according to a controlled closed loop philosophy that includes a service life of 50 years or more, as well as recycling and reuse at end of life.
They are recruiting for an additional fabricator of windows and doors to join their training department.
Key duties will include:
- To fabricate and assemble sample products from detailed designs as required
- To support the product testing process from design through to product sign-off
- Assist & advise on hardware suitability where required
- To provide training on the fabrication and assembly of our products to internal and external customers
- Assist in stand building for exhibitions
- Keep abreast of changes relating to product standards, BSI, BBA, BPF and Building Regulations
- To collect and deliver products to offsite locations as required
- Adhere to Company and industry quality standards
- Keep training school & work areas clean & tidy
- Adhere to Health & Safety policy and procedures
Essential requirements:
- Experience in the fabrication of doors and windows or excellent carpentry skills
- Experience of using hand and power tools
- Experience of using mitre saws
- Ability to follow detailed diagrams to produce a product
- Excellent attention to detail, working to a consistent high standard of work
- A flexible, pro-active approach to work including the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- A natural manual dexterity
- A valid Full Driving Licence
Desirable and beneficial for the role, knowledge or experience of:
- The preparation work, welding, corner cleaning, general hanging and finishing PVC and composite door products including glazing.
- Previous experience training others on detailed tasks

Standard hours are 39 hours per week, working Monday to Thursday 08.30 - 17.00 and Friday 08.30 - 16.00, with half an hour unpaid lunch break.
