Due to a significant increase in workload there is a requirement for a Case Worker/HR Advisor to support the HR Team with Employee Relations Work. Specifically the following duties would be required:

• To provide professional advice and support to Directorate teams on matters relating to disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, performance management issues and liaise with Trade Union Representatives as necessary. This includes attending meetings/hearings and advising on the process and outcome.

• To provide professional advice and support to managers and staff on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures, terms and conditions of service and legislation, promoting good employee relations at all times and ensuring legal obligations are maintained.

• To guide and support the development of HR skills in managers and clinicians by providing advice and guidance on all issues connected to the employment relationship, empowering managers to take responsibility for people management whilst ensuring consistency across the Trust.

• Undertake proactive and reactive operational HR case work under the direction and guidance of the HR Business Partner. To ensure that all activity is recorded electronically and monitored for equal opportunities purposes. The range of case work will include:

o Disciplinary
o Grievance
o Bullying and harassment
o Staff performance and conduct issues
o Attendance / absence management

Essential Skills, Experience and Knowledge

• Experience of having worked in a complex organisation
• Experience of having worked in a HR Department
• Experience of managing complex employee relation cases
• Experience of supporting hearing panels
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• CIPD Qualified

Desirable

• Experience of having worked in the NHS or the Public Sector

This post is initially for 3 months with the view of extension. Hours of work are 37.5 per week.
