The school is focused on children with moderate to severe Autism and as such the curriculum is based largely on the EYFS "P Levels and lower KS1. The Headteacher is seeking to appoint a new and forward thinking SEN Teacher as autism specific specialist. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teacher or Primary teacher with good recent ASD teaching experience in special schools or mainstream. The idea SEN teaching is someone who is adaptable and willing to work across the ability range within the school. The school is a friendly, safe, positive and structured environment in which every young person is respected and encouraged to achieve independence (through academic, employment and personal skills development).

The school favours a cognitive behavioural therapy approach to teaching and learning and uses the National Autistic Society TEACCH guidelines as the cornerstone of their ethos for SEN teachers and support workers. ABA techniques are used where beneficial for the pupils but this is not the direction that the leadership favour.

This SEN teacher job is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our school's continued development where you will be working closely with the SLT, Teaching and Support staff to improve learning outcomes for all pupils.

By joining this lovely school you will:
Have an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of pupils and to the school;
Meet and work with wonderful, hardworking pupils and colleagues;
Have increased opportunities for continued professional development.
