Summary
The Mechanical and Electrical Engineering job allows you to provide Mechanical and Electrical services on wastewater treatment plants and multiple water or wastewater pumping stations as a field based engineer.

Offering either contract or permanent positions, this is offering genuine opportunities for engineers with water or wastewater industry experience to work with pumps and mechanical equipment related to the water sector within a long term and lucrative job.

My client is a specialist Mechanical & Electrical Engineering contractor who operate within the water industry. They are currently recruiting for Mechanical & Electrical Engineers due to their ongoing and increasing success and expansion.

The Job

The role involves:
??A variety of maintenance activities on wastewater treatment plants, including associated equipment.
??Using your own initiative to carry out planned & pre-emptive maintenance.
??Fault diagnostics, emergency break-down repairs, modifications as well as minor installation work for the plant.

Daily responsibilities:

??Electrical/mechanical maintenance at various locations, involving a number of different water related industrial equipment.
??Carrying out removal and installation works in a safe and professional manner.
??Inspection and testing of installations to ensure compliance with current Standards & Regulations.
??Carrying out maintenance, servicing, installations and fault-finding on pumps and related equipment.
??Compliance with the Health and Safety regulations and client required Health and Safety standards.
??Updating the Maintenance office with basic data with the use of hand held devices. Detailing spare parts requirements, working times and irregular operational conditions, etc.

Are you the ideal candidate?
You should be able to show that you come from an industrial engineering background, preferably within the water or wastewater sector. You must also have qualifications in mechanical / electrical engineering. We are looking for mechanical & electrical engineers who are hard-working and can work independently when required.

Other requirements include:

??CSCS/IOSH
??NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification
??Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
??Confined spaces certification
??17th edition (desirable)
??City & Guilds testing and inspection (desirable)
??Full UK driving license

What you'll get
The role offers an hourly rate which can be paid either via LTD (Umbrella or LTD company) or PAYE depending on what suits you at an equivalent salary of GBP30,000 - GBP36,000 plus benefits and offers great opportunities to maximise earnings as well as development and progression.
