Salary: GBP25,000-GBP30,000+ (Negotiable, dependent on experience)

Kelvin Power Consultants have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil (Structural welcome too with the right background) CAD Technician to work on a wide range of projects in the UK and ROI, based at our offices in Leicester, for our clients including international developers, UK DNO's and power contractors.

As part of a multi-disciplined engineering design team you will be required to work closely with in-house engineers, client's engineers, contractors and suppliers to deliver co-ordinated designs to Clients detailed specifications.

This position has been created due to an increase in workload and to assist in the further development and growth of the Civil & Structural team.

Description
You will be producing CAD/REVIT drawings for projects including HVDC and HVDC substations up to 400kV, onshore connections, cable studies and transmission lines for projects in the UK and ROI, encompassing all aspects of related civil and structural design (General Arrangement/Layout Drawings, reinforced concrete, structural steelwork, foundations, drainage, external works and the like).

Key objectives
Ensuring quality and completeness of all drawn information for projects under your remit.
Be responsible for the production of schematic, general arrangement and detailed drawings in accordance with the relevant standards and procedures.
Ensure quality of delivery when producing or updating CAD drawings to internal and/or customer standards.
Provide support to CAD technicians, trainees and graduates in their professional development.
Provide technical mentoring to junior members of the CAD team.
Ensure thorough checking and accuracy of deliverables and record documentation in accordance with company QA procedures
Provide feedback on the performance of the department from a technical and operational perspective.
Report to management team to ensure that resource requirements are utilised efficiently.

Minimum Requirements:
Significant experience of working in a CAD based role.
Understanding of industry standards and ability to translate requirements to CAD drawings.
5 years' relevant industry experience. Experience in substation structures and substation layouts is preferable, although not essential. Applicants with knowledge of similar industrial sectors will be considered.
AutoCAD essential. Revit experience highly beneficial

Preferred Qualifications:
Educated to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Civil or Structural Engineering or similar.
