Kelvin Power Consultants have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to lead the building services design element of EHV and HV Substations, based at our offices in Leicester.
As part of a multi-disciplined engineering design team you will be required to work closely with in-house engineers, client's engineers, contractors and suppliers to deliver co-ordinated designs to Clients detailed specifications.
The successful candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years relevant post graduate experience in the design of electrical building services systems to include:-
IEE regulations, for the design of cables, fault protection and building load assessments using Amtech or Hevacomp design software.
Lighting design, design of external and internal lighting systems including emergency lighting and BS5266, using Dialux or Relux design software.
Fire alarms and security systems, design of Smoke and fire alarm systems including fire suppression systems. Intruder alarm systems, CCTV systems and access control systems.
Air Conditioning and ventilation systems, knowledge of equipment over-pressure (blast) vents and building pressure calculations would be advantageous.
An appreciation of the financial and commercial considerations that affect project delivery is required as well as an ability to prioritise workloads and meet financial and time based deadlines on multiple projects.

The person:
Minimum Requirements:
AutoCad and/or Revit experience
HND/HNC or equivalent or above
M&E Design experience
5 years' industry experience
Knowledge of Latest IET Wiring Regulations (currently 17th edition)

Kelvin Power Consultants complete approximately 80 projects per year ranging in size from a small order of support structures for a substation to providing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to work on a large energy project such as an offshore wind farm
