Our client is a well known, top 50 company based in Belfast. Due to internal movement a permanent position as arisen for a Forecasting Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a Forecasting Accountant to progress within a well established, great place to work company.

The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, a highly motivated, strong self-sufficient individual is required to co-ordinate and consolidate the forecasting activities of the Group utilising financial modelling software for reporting & analysis. The role will involve managing various forecasting and modelling work streams within the finance department and will require the successful candidate to promote cross departmental interaction and continuous improvement ensuring sound financial reporting and forecasting structures are in place.

This is a varied role that includes the key responsibilities below, but is not limited to those responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the coordination, consolidation and delivery of the Group's Business Plan and monthly LBE, including:
Co-ordination of assumptions meetings with key stakeholders and the delivery of forecasts thereof;
Consolidating results of each business unit for the overall Group;
Analysing results and where necessary obtaining relevant and meaningful explanations;
Maintaining relations with all key stakeholders;
Presentation and analysis/explanation of the consolidated Group results to the senior management;
Adapting presentation and analysis to reflect the changing nature of the markets.

Consolidation and review of the Group's rolling cash flows including trend analysis, key variance explanations and understanding month on month cash flow movements driven by changes in profitability, working capital movements and capital expenditure.
Responsible for ad hoc forecasting required as a result of market and economic changes
Maintenance of existing reporting models, including advising on how models can be improved, streamlined and better utilised
Development of new forecasting models & software as appropriate to business needs
Provide reporting software training and or support to the finance team
Manage the upgrade or conversion of the Group's existing financial reporting software, including required impact assessment and resource planning.

Essential Skills,

Fully Qualified Accountant
Excellent communication & presentation skills with proven experience delivering and being accountable for high level financial information to senior management
Analytical skills with an ability to demonstrate commercial awareness
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to coordinate cross departmental or functional areas to achieve a common objective
Ability to understand a complex and diverse business
Good working knowledge of accounting and reporting software
Confident communicator capable of setting the agenda and challenge appropriately


Experience of SAP and Cognos

Salary will depend on experience and will range from GBP35k to GBP40k with very attractive benefits.
