Senior Technical Lead- Injectable Drug Delivery

We are recruiting for a Senior Technical Lead - Injectable Drug Delivery. If you have a wealth of experience in the development of injectable drug delivery devices, together with the ability to transform ideas into functional designs, then our prestigious Cambridge based client is looking to hear from you. You will have significant experience of developing injectable drug delivery devices such as injection pens, auto-injectors, reconstitution devices, needle-free delivery or other novel injection technologies in contact and collaboration with pharmaceutical stakeholders. You will have worked alongside formulation scientists, regulatory and clinical teams and have a good understanding of the technical and commercial risks in such developments. You will have an excellent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and have proven leadership and communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:

* Provide a significant contribution to major fast track medical technology development projects with a focus on injectable drug delivery
* Apply your mechanical engineering abilities to the development of world-leading medical products for customers around the globe
* Work within multi-disciplinary teams of highly talented people to develop novel solutions to difficult technical problems
* Technically lead multi-disciplinary project teams of Engineers, Consultants and Designers to realise your design solutions for complex mechanical or electro-mechanical drug delivery systems
* Use your strong technical expertise to liaise with customers to understand their technical needs and prepare proposals which capture these requirements
* Apply your knowledge of the regulatory landscape to ensure standards-compliant design
* Use your commercial experience and awareness with regard to technical issues
* Transfer designs to manufacture through liaison with external suppliers
* Develop internally funded, novel technologies and present at scientific conferences to build awareness of our skills and experience in the inhaled drug delivery domain

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

* You will have an excellent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* You will have proven leadership and communication skills
* Significant experience of developing injectable drug delivery devices such as injection pens, auto-injectors, reconstitution devices, needle-free delivery or other novel injection technologies in contact and collaboration with pharmaceutical stakeholders
* Experience working alongside formulation scientists, regulatory and clinical teams
* An excellent understanding of the technical and commercial risks in such developments
